Welcome To The Team!
We work closely with sports medicine teams to help their athletes recover more fully and quickly. We can help in many ways, from managing pain, to healing bones more quickly, and scars healing more cleanly.
This isn't just “wishful thinking” it's backed by science.
Many of our partnering team members are:
...who are already seeing success with their clients, and understand that there's always more that can be done to improve their client's recovery and satisfaction.
How Sports Recovery Hypnosis Can Help You
You already understand the significant role mindset plays in your patient’s recovery, but with your day tightly scheduled, and insurance constraints, you might not always have the capacity to accommodate mindset work.
We understand it’s frustrating when you’ve laid out an efficacious recovery plan, doing everything possible, and a client is even on track for recovery, but their attitude is dismal, and they may not be fully participating in the recovery plan. We find patients are often worried about re-injury and uncertain about the future of their career. These are aspects of recovery that we can help address with hypnosis.
We compliment your services to make you look good.
We don’t tell your patients what to do or change your recovery plan.
We help your clients to feel more optimistic about their recovery outcome and more compliant so they are easier to work with and fully participating so they can get the most out of your work together. We work with your client’s minds, so you can do your best work on their bodies.
This leads to higher levels of patient satisfaction, more 5-star reviews, and more business for you.
How Sports Recovery Hypnosis Can Help Your Patients
By using hypnosis and similar modalities, we’re able to help your patients in the following ways:
- Pain Management: Hypnosis has been shown to be effective in reducing pain perception, particularly in post-surgery recovery. By guiding an injured athlete into a hypnotic state, a sports recovery hypnotist can suggest feelings of comfort, relaxation, and decreased pain sensations, allowing your patient to focus on the healing aspects of their body. Ultimately, this can lead to a reduction in reliance on pain medications, which can have serious side effects and potential dependency issues.
- Stress and Anxiety Reduction: Sports injuries can be emotionally and mentally challenging for athletes. Hypnosis can aid in reducing stress and anxiety related to the injury and the recovery process. Lower stress levels positively impact the body's ability to heal and reduce the risk of stress-induced complications. By addressing the psychological aspect of the injury, your athlete will be better able to focus on their rehabilitation and healing.
- Post-Operative Tissue Healing: Hypnosis can be used to stitch together broken bones and tissues more quickly after surgery. During hypnosis, athletes can be guided to vividly visualize the healing process. By imagining the injured area healing and becoming stronger, the mind positively influences the body's natural healing mechanisms. This mental rehearsal has been shown to accelerate the recovery process and improve overall outcomes.
- Motivation and Confidence Building: Hypnosis can help instill a sense of motivation and confidence in athletes during their recovery. We can help athletes to regain their belief in their abilities and be more committed to their rehabilitation regimen, so they can get back out there more quickly.
- Reducing Worry & Negative Thoughts: Negative thoughts or beliefs about recovery can hinder progress. Hypnosis helps by reframing these negative thought patterns into more positive and constructive ones. This can create a more optimistic mindset, promoting a healthier, happier healing experience.
- Accelerating the Healing Process: We use effective hypnosis protocols to help athletes recover from injured body part healing rapidly and efficiently. By repeatedly visualizing the healing process, athletes may experience a more positive mindset, which can contribute to a faster and smoother recovery.
- Strengthening Mind-Body Connection: Hypnosis can enhance the mind-body connection, allowing athletes to become more attuned to their bodies and facilitate a better understanding of their injury. This heightened awareness can lead to better self-care practices and an improved ability to listen to the body's signals during the recovery process.
- Promoting Accelerated Rehabilitation: Hypnosis can enhance the effectiveness of physical therapy and rehabilitation exercises. Through hypnotic suggestion, athletes can be encouraged to engage fully in their rehabilitation routines, leading to improved compliance and potentially speeding up the recovery process. So you can get your clients back as close to 100% as quickly and safely as possible.
- Immune System Support: Studies suggest that hypnosis can have a positive impact on the immune system. A strengthened immune response can help athletes ward off infections and other complications that could impede a quick recovery.
- Improving Sleep Quality: Adequate sleep is crucial for healing and recovery. Hypnosis helps your athletes in achieving better sleep by promoting relaxation and stress reduction, while addressing any sleep disturbances related to their injury, pain, or emotional stress.
When Did This Start?
In the 1988 Winter Olympics, the Soviet Bloc athletes walked away with 56 medals, while the United States won six.
What made the 50-medal difference?
Leading up to the winter games, the Soviets had included 14 hypnotists as part of their Olympic success team and had been training with specific hypnosis protocols to help their Olympic athletes dominate the games. And it worked.
You can learn more in Grigori Raiport’s book, “Red Gold”.
Since that Olympic medal landslide, the use of hypnosis in sports has exploded and continues to be a growing field, with hypnosis being used in sports recovery more regularly.
